  Winter 2019 Class Schedule:

I will be teaching both right-handed and left-handed techniques.

Assisted Knitting/Crochet Workshop – Knit or crochet projects with guidance.   There are multiple sessions to pick from.  Call ahead for space availability. (This workshop is free if you purchased your yarn at Knit Your Dreams, otherwise there is a $5.00 fee.)

  • Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 4.
  • Wednesday mornings from 10 to 12.
  • Thursdays from 10 AM to 1.
  • Friday mornings from 10 to 12.
  • Saturday mornings from 9 to 12. (This group sometimes gets split in two, depending on interests.)

Beginning Cable Scarf - Learn to do simple cables while knitting a scarf. Cost will be $20.00.

Cable Hat  - Learn how to knit a hat with cables in the round.  Cost will be $20.00.

Crochet 101 - Cost will be $45.00.

Knitting 101 - Cost will be $45.00.

Knit-A-Longs -

  • Wisconsin Winter Socks are thick warm socks for boots or wearing around the house.

  • Strange Brew is a sweater with color work.  It is a recipe pattern.  It can be knit top down, bottom up, with steeks, or without.  You can use two colors or many.  Sounds like fun!

  • Bluesand is a trendy long top down cardigan that can be made for any season.  The pattern has stripes which create color blocks, but some of us are going to knit it in a solid color.  Pockets can be removed and it can be knitted with a straighter profile.

Sock Workshop -  We meet from 10 to 12 on Wednesday mornings. There will be a free KAL of socks for those who already know the basics of sock knitting.  For beginners or those needing a refresher course, I offer a class in knitting a basic sock for $45.00.

Sweater Workshop (Knit) – We meet Thursday mornings 10 AM to 1 PM or Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 PM.  You pick the sweater.  We will be working on a variety of sweaters, both bottom up and top down.   The Strange Brew yoked sweater is one of projects we will be working on. If you have knitted a sweater before, the KAL is free.  If this is your first sweater, there is a fee of $45.00.

Charity Knitting Hats – We are knitting and crocheting hats for local school children again.   The children and school nurses really appreciate them.  The children are not allowed to play outside without warm clothes.  Every community has needs, please join us and we will try to get the hats to areas where they are needed most.

Class Policies:

  • Class space is limited so reservations are a must.
  • Classes require homework be completed before the next scheduled class.  If you know that you will be unable to complete the homework, you should wait until the class is offered again.
  • If you will not be able to attend all of the sessions, make up classes are not guaranteed.
  • Each class is based on a specific project or list of skills.  If you complete the project or master the skills early, the class will be released early.
  • Class attendees MUST select the materials for their projects prior to the beginning of the first class, so that classes will start on time.  If  yarn purchased for class is in hanks, it must be wound into balls or cakes before class starts.
  • Yarn for classes MUST be purchased at Knit Your Dreams.
  • To avoid distractions and allow everyone to focus on the class, please do not bring others with you who will not be participating in the class.
  • If you are ill, or have an ill child home from school, "PLEASE" call and schedule a make-up class.
  • Please silence your cellphone while you are in the classroom.
 Project Assistance Policy:
Assistance will be given depending on how busy the shop is.  If you need help on a project, please call ahead to make sure you won’t be interrupting a class and that someone will be available that can help with your type of project.  If the yarn you are using for a project was not purchased at Knit Your Dreams, there will be a $5.00 fee for assistance.  If I need to spend a lengthy amount of time helping you (over 30 minutes), there may be a $5.00 fee, regardless of where the yarn was purchased or it may be recommended that you take a class.
